NOVEMBER 14, 2021 SHORT TAKES ON THE DRIFTING WRECKAGE – OVERNIGHT: THE SKY IS FALLING, THE SKY IS FALLING – OVERNIGHT: In a way, this is child abuse. From Newsbusters: As the COP26 climate summit raged in Glasgow, Scotland, the past couple of weeks, PBS churned out plenty of taxpayer-funded doom and gloom predictions, and, at worst, even seemed to defend the irrational "climate anxiety" felt by some school children who have sadly been indoctrinated by the liberal media on the issue. On Wednesday's show PBS NewsHour, anchor Judy Woodruff relayed results from a poll commissioned by PBS NewsHour and Generation Lab, finding that substantial percentages of children believe climate change will effect important life issues for them later on like having children or where they live. The show then devoted eight minutes to the issue by showing a pre-recorded piece by correspondent William Brangham. One high school student featured in the piece, Sofia Palau, recalled suffering from panic attacks, and having difficulty studying for the ACT because she kept thinking of the "impending doom." What a terrible thing to do to children, and all based on theories and predictions that have been shown to be wobbly. And we call ourselves advanced. November 14, 2021 Permalink
THE CRUMBLING CONTINUES, DAY BY DAY – OVERNIGHT: The Biden administration is in freefall. It isn't just one poll or two. Similar numbers are showing up everywhere. The public shift is serious, fueled by anger, and possibly permanent. From Daily Caller:
And there's this, from hotair.com:
COMMENT: We stress once again that these polls are snapshots in time. Biden's numbers can change if he starts getting things right, although he has not yet achieved that art. And both economic and foreign conditions can change for the better. Luck is also involved. Republicans are on a good path to an impressive victory in the 2022 midterms. Those elections, though, are a year off. Take the current numbers simply as a guide to trends. We have the right to smile. November 14, 2021 Permalink
NOVEMBER 13, 2021 SHORT TAKES ON THE DRIFTING WRECKAGE – OVERNIGHT: WE WAIT ON HER EVERY WORD – OVERNIGHT: Vice President Harris speaks on American foreign policy, for a bit. From Daily Mail: Vice President Kamala Harris told French reporters that America remains 'very concerned' about Russia outside of a shop in Paris on Saturday after buying pots and skillets. As the Biden administration warned of an imminent threat in Eastern Europe over fears of a Ukraine invasion amidst an escalating crisis at the Belarus-Poland border, Harris strolled through Paris with her husband, Doug Emhoff. When asked about the Russia-Ukraine conflict the vice president said: 'I cannot talk to you about classified information' and went on to express her concerns on the crisis. But it wasn't the first time Harris has voiced worries about Russian military movements amid the tense immigrant crisis in Belarus that has the potential to spill over into other countries in Europe. Harris said the 'eyes of the world' are on the Belarus border as the Biden administration waded into the chaos in Eastern Europe. Okay, she opened her mouth on a serious subject, even with pots and pans in her hands. Part of her objective on this trip, we read, is to assure Americans that she is ready to take over as president. Her comments are a good start, but she has a vast distance to go. And she should discuss foreign policy from behind a desk or a lectern. The pots and pans won't scare any enemy. ANTI-CRT IS MULTIRACIAL – OVERNIGHT: The objections raised against critical race theory by African American scholars and commentators is almost completely ignored by the mainstream media. It is another of journalism's disgraces. From Fox:
COMMENT: Wonderfully stated. I do not see black parents marching through the streets of their towns asking for more critical race theory. From what I've seen, a great chunk of the support for CRT comes from white radicals in our universities and teachers colleges, and parts of the media. If the CRT crowd wins, America loses, and black America loses the most of all. But the actual fate of black children is of little interest to Marxists and other leftists. They see students of all colors as potential foot soldiers in the army of the woke. Who can top that for importance? November 13, 2021 Permalink

It nurtures dependence through its empire of government programs.
